The MEaSUREs Greenland Ice Velocity: Selected Glacier Site Velocity Maps from InSAR, Version 4 data set, accessible from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), has been updated. New data covering the time period between 07 June 2021 to 01 October 2021 have been added. 

The SMAP/In Situ Core Validation Site Land Surface Parameters Match-Up Data, Version 1 data set, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), has been updated. Additional supporting core site files for 15 sites for the SPL2SMP_E data set have been added that cover time periods between 04 January 2015 and 31 March 2020.

The MODIS Collection 6.1 Snow Cover and Sea Ice data sets, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), were released in the last year and data reprocessing is now complete. The full temporal coverage, from February 2000 for MODIS/Terra data sets and July 2002 for MODIS/Aqua data sets to present, is available.

The DMSP SSM/I-SSMIS Daily Polar Gridded Brightness Temperatures, Version 6 data set, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), has been updated through 5 September 2021. This data set provides daily gridded brightness temperatures derived from passive microwave sensors and distributed in a polar stereographic projection.

The SnowEx17 Time-Lapse Imagery, Version 1 data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set contains time-lapse images from 34 sites around Grand Mesa, CO and one site at Senator Beck Basin, CO.

The Bootstrap Sea Ice Concentrations from Nimbus-7 SMMR and DMSP SSM/I-SSMIS, Version 3 data set, available through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), has been updated through 31 May 2021.

The Sea Ice Concentrations from Nimbus-7 SMMR and DMSP SSM/I-SSMIS Passive Microwave Data, Version 1 data set, accessible from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), has been updated through 31 May 2021. This data set is generated from brightness temperature data and is designed to provide a consistent time series of sea ice concentrations spanning the coverage of several passive microwave instruments.

The snowmelt and sublimation files have been temporarily removed from the High Mountain Asia UCLA Daily Snow Reanalysis, Version 1 data set, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).  A significant bias has been discovered in the snowmelt and sublimation data that is not easily correctable in the current files.  These data will be reprocessed and made available again as soon as possible.  We do not recommend using the previously released snowmelt a

The MEaSUREs Greenland Image Mosaics from Sentinel-1A and -1B, Version 4 data set, available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) has been updated with mosaics through 31 October 2021. This data set, part of the Making Earth System Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) Program, consists of 6 and 12-day 50 m resolution image mosaics of the Greenland coastline and ice sheet periphery beginning in January 2015.

The IceBridge Accumulation Radar L1B Geolocated Radar Echo Strength Profiles, Version 2 data set, available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), has been updated to include data for the Spring 2018 Greenland campaign. This data set contains radar echograms taken over Greenland and Antarctica using the Center for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets (CReSIS) Accumulation Radar instrument.

The ATLAS/ICESat-2 L3B Gridded Antarctic and Arctic Land Ice Height, Version 1 (ATL14) and ATLAS/ICESat-2 L3B Gridded Antarctic and Arctic Land Ice Height Change, Version 1 (ATL15) data sets from the Ice, Cloud, and Land Elevation Satellite-2 (ICESat-2) mission are available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). 

The AMSR-E/AMSR2 Unified L2B Global Swath Ocean Products, Version 1 data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set contains global water vapor over ocean, cloud liquid water content over ocean, and sea surface wind speed between 89°24' N to 89°24' S latitudes at a spatial resolution of 10 km along track and 5 km along scan. 

New versions of multiple Level-3A and Level-3B data sets from the Ice, Cloud, and Land Elevation Satellite-2 (ICESat-2) mission are available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC):  ATLAS/ICESat-2 L3A Along Track Inland Surface Water Data (ATL13), Version 5; ATLAS/ICESat-2 L3B Daily and Monthly Gridded Sea Ice Freeboard (ATL20), Version 3 and ATLAS/ICESat-2 L3B Daily and Month

The ATLAS/ICESat-2 L3B Annual Land Ice Height, Version 4 (ATL11) data set from the Ice, Cloud, and Land Elevation Satellite-2 (ICESat-2) mission has been updated to Version 4.  This data set provides time series of land-ice surface heights derived from the ICESat-2 ATL06 Land-ice Height product.

The SMAP Project performs annual reprocessing of all its science data products based on improvements in the algorithms and supporting information. As part of this routine reprocessing, the SMAP Science Data System (SDS) has now released new versions of the following four Level-4 data products, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC):

SMAP L4 Global 9 km EASE-Grid Surface and Root Zone Soil Moisture Land Model Constants, Version 6

The ATLAS/ICESat-2 L3B Monthly Gridded Dynamic Ocean Topography, Version 1 (ATL19) data set from the Ice, Cloud, and Land Elevation Satellite-2 (ICESat-2) mission is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set contains monthly gridded dynamic ocean topography (DOT), derived from the along-track ATLAS/ICESat-2 L3A Ocean Surface Height product (ATL12, V4). Both single beam and all-beam gridded averages are available in this data set.

Multiple Level-1B, Level-2A, and Level-3A data sets from the Ice, Cloud, and land Elevation Satellite-2 (ICESat-2) mission have been updated to Version 5 at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).

These data sets provide: telemetry data; geolocated photon data; backscatter profiles; geolocated surface elevations for land ice, sea ice, land and vegetation; atmospheric layer characteristics; and sea ice freeboard estimates. The temporal coverage of each data set is included below.

The AMSR-E/Aqua L2B Global Swath Surface Precipitation GSFC Profiling Algorithm, Version 4 data set accessible from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) is now available. The data have been reprocessed using version 4 of the AMSR-E Level-2A Brightness temperatures as input data and the GPROF 2017 algorithm. Eight variables were removed and three have been added, and the names for some of the remaining variables have changed slightly.

The MEaSUREs Greenland 6 and 12 day Ice Sheet Velocity Mosaics from SAR, Version 1 data set is now available from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set contains 6- and 12-day surface velocity estimates for the Greenland Ice Sheet and periphery derived from images acquired between 2015-2021 by the European Space Agency (ESA) Sentinel-1A and Sentinel-1B satellites.

The IceBridge Snow Radar L1B Geolocated Radar Echo Strength Profiles, Version 2 data set has been updated to include data for campaigns in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021 at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).
