The NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) is pleased to announce that the DMSP SSM/I-SSMIS Daily Polar Gridded Brightness Temperatures data set has been updated through 31 December 2014. These daily gridded brightness temperature data are from orbital swath data generated by the Special Sensor Microwave/Imager (SSM/I) aboard the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) F8, F11, and F13 platforms and the Special Sensor Microwave Imager/Sounder (SSMIS) aboard DMSP-F17.
The NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) is pleased to announce that the DMSP SSM/I-SSMIS Pathfinder Daily EASE-Grid Brightness Temperatures, Version 2 data set has been updated through 31 December 2014. The data set consists of gridded brightness temperatures from the Special Sensor Microwave/Imager (SSM/I) and the Special Sensor Microwave Imager/Sounder (SSMIS) in three equal-area projections: Northern Hemisphere, Southern Hemisphere, and full global.
The NASA IceBridge Narrow Swath ATM L1B Elevation and Return Strength, Version 2 data set now includes data for Arctic 2014. This data set contains spot elevation measurements of Greenland, Arctic, and Antarctic sea ice acquired using the NASA Airborne Topographic Mapper (ATM) 4CT3 narrow scan instrumentation.
The NASA IceBridge ATM L1B Elevation and Return Strength, Version 2 data set now includes data for 2014 Arctic. This data set contains spot elevation measurements of Arctic and Antarctic sea ice, and Greenland, Antarctic Peninsula, and West Antarctic region ice surface acquired using the NASA Airborne Topographic Mapper (ATM) instrumentation.
The NASA IceBridge ATM L2 Icessn Elevation, Slope, and Roughness, Version 2 data set now includes data for 2014 Arctic. This data set contains resampled and smoothed elevation measurements of Arctic and Antarctic sea ice, and Greenland, Antarctic Peninsula, and West Antarctic region land ice surface acquired using the NASA Airborne Topographic Mapper (ATM) instrumentation.
The NASA IceBridge Accumulation Radar L1B Geolocated Radar Echo Strength Profiles, Version 2 data set now includes data for Antarctica 2013. This data set contains radar echograms taken over Greenland and Antarctica using the Center for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets (CReSIS) Accumulation Radar instrument. The NASA IceBridge KT19 IR Surface Temperature data set now includes data for Arctic 2014. This data set contains surface temperature measurements of Arctic and Antarctic sea ice and land ice acquired using the KT19 pyrometer alongside the NASA Airborne Topographic Mapper (ATM) Instrument. New field campaign data from the Soil Moisture Active Passive Validation Experiment 2012 (SMAPVEX12) are now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).
The NASA IceBridge UAF Lidar Scanner L1B Geolocated Surface Elevation Triplets data set now includes data for 2013. This data set contains scanning laser altimetry data points of Alaska Glaciers acquired using the airborne University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) Glacier Lidar system. The Antarctic Glaciological Data Center (AGDC) at NSIDC is pleased to announce the release of a new data set, West Antarctica Ice Core Data. This data set includes ice core water isotope data from Antarctic ice cores covering the last 200 to 2000 years.
The Making Earth System Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) Program, at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), is pleased to announce the release of a new data set: MEaSUREs Northern Hemisphere Terrestrial Snow Cover Extent Weekly 100km EASE-Grid 2.0.
The Nimbus Data Rescue Project, at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NASA DAAC), is pleased to announce that it has updated the Nimbus Image Dissector Camera System Visible Imagery L1, HDF5 data set with newly digitized imagery from the Nimbus 4 satellite. The NASA IceBridge Paroscientific L1B Pressure Altimeter Time-Tagged Air Pressure data set is now updated to include data for 29 and 31 December 2008. This data set contains static pressure values for Antarctica using the Paroscientific Digiquartz Transmitter. The MEaSUREs InSAR-Based Ice Velocity of the Amundsen Sea Embayment, Antarctica data set is now available from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set, part of the NASA Making Earth System Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) Program, consists of high-resolution, digital mosaics of ice motion in the Amundsen Sea Embayment and West Antarctica, including Pine Island, Thwaites, Haynes, Pope, Smith, and Kohler glaciers.
IceBridge DMS L1B Geolocated and Orthorectified Images for Arctic 2014 are now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). New IceBridge DMS Level-3 Photogrammetric DEM image data for Arctic 2012 and 2013 and Antarctica 2011, 2012, and 2013 are now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). The data set contains gridded Digital Elevation Models (DEM) and orthorectified images of Greenland and Antarctica derived from Digital Mapping System (DMS) and Airborne Topographic Mapper (ATM) instrumentation. The Antarctic Glaciological Data Center (AGDC) at NSIDC is pleased to announce the release of a new data set, Measurements of Trapped Air from Mullins Valley, Dry Valleys, Antarctica. These data describe the analyses of the elemental and isotopic composition of O2, N2, and Ar and total air content made on the trapped air from three shallow ice cores (<34m depth) collected during the 2009 field campaign to Mullins Valley of the Dry Valleys, Antarctica.
Land cover classifications and land cover masks in the EASE-Grid and EASE-Grid 2.0 projections are now available as data sets from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). These data provide land cover classifications and land classification masks derived from the Boston University MOD12Q1 V004 MODIS/Terra 1 km Land Cover Product. These data are available in various EASE-Grid and EASE-Grid 2.0 azimuthal and global projections, at various spatial resolutions ranging from 3 km to 100 km.
Version 3 Aquarius L2 Swath Single Orbit Soil Moisture data are now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).
This data set contains Level-2 global soil moisture estimates derived from the NASA Aquarius passive microwave radiometer on the Satélite de Aplicaciones Científicas (SAC-D).
Version 3 Aquarius L3 Gridded 1-Degree Soil Moisture data are now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).
