The IceBridge BedMachine Greenland, Version 4 data set, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), has been updated from a basic to a comprehensive level of service. This data set contains a bed topography/bathymetry map of Greenland based on mass conservation, multi-beam data, and other techniques. It also includes surface elevation and ice thickness data, as well as an ice/ocean/land mask. Data set DOI: https://doi.org/10.5067/VLJ5YXKCNGXO
The MEaSUREs Greenland Image Mosaics from Sentinel-1A and -1B, Version 4 data set, accessible from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) is now available. The data have been reprocessed using a corrected DEM and the data set now spans 1 January 2015 to 27 February 2021. This data set is part of the NASA Making Earth System Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) program.
The MEaSUREs Greenland Annual/Quarterly/Monthly Ice Sheet Velocity Mosaics from SAR and Landsat, Version 3 data sets, accessible from the National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) are now available. These annual, quarterly and monthly data sets have been reprocessed using a corrected DEM and the GeoTIFFs are now cloud optimized. New data have been added so the data sets now span 01 December 2014 - 30 November 2020.
NOAA@NSIDC is pleased to announce that the NOAA@NSIDC Climate Data Record of Passive Microwave Sea Ice Concentration, Version 4 data set, accessible through the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC), is now available. The main changes in this new version are:
NOAA@NSIDC is pleased to announce that the Near-Real-Time NOAA@NSIDC Climate Data Record of Passive Microwave Sea Ice Concentration, Version 2 data set, accessible through the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) is now available. The main changes in this new version are:
The Northern Hemisphere EASE-Grid 2.0 Weekly Snow Cover and Sea Ice Extent, Version 4 data set, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), has been updated through 31 December 2020. This data set contains snow cover and sea ice extent derived from SMMR and DMSP-F8, -F11, -F13, and -F17 SMM/I and SSMIS brightness temperature measurements. These data are provided on the 25 km Northern Hemisphere EASE-Grid 2.0.
The SnowEx20 Airborne SWESARR Brightness Temperature, Version 1 data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set contains airborne microwave brightness temperature observations that were made between 10 to 12 February 2020, during the SnowEx20 campaign at Grand Mesa, Colorado.
The Nenana Ice Classic: Tanana River Ice Annual Breakup Dates, Version 2 data set, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), has been updated. The ice breakup date for 2021 has been added, so the data set now spans 1 April 1917 to 30 April 2021. This data set provides the date and time when the Tanana River ice, in the town of Nenana, AK, breaks up each spring.
The AMSR-E/AMSR2 Unified L3 Global Daily/5-Day/Monthly 25km EASE-Grid Snow Water Equivalent, Version 1 data sets, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), have been updated. The data have been reprocessed to correct for the artificial, uniform boundary extending across North America for the snow water equivalent (SWE) values. The filenames for these reprocessed data contain ‘B02’ instead of ‘B01’.
The following 5 data sets are now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC):
NOAA@NSIDC is pleased to announce that the Multisensor Analyzed Sea Ice Extent (MASIE) data set is now available in NetCDF4 format. Both the 1 km and 4 km resolution data are available in this new format with surface type classifications for sea ice, land, coastline, lake, ocean, and missing. The NetCDF files are for the full Northern Hemisphere-wide MASIE product; the regional data are not included. Ancillary 4 km and 1 km latitude and longitude NetCDF files are also provided to accompany the NetCDF data files.
The Lagrangian Snow Distributions for Sea-Ice Applications, Version 1 data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set contains daily estimates of snow depth and density for snow-on-sea-ice in the Arctic Ocean, generated using a Lagrangian snow-evolution model. It spans 01 August 1980 to 31 July 2018 and the spatial resolution is 25 km.
NOAA@NSIDC is pleased to announce that the Sea Ice Index has been updated from near-real-time data to final data for the time period 01 January 2020 through 31 December 2020. Initially, when the Sea Ice Index is first processed, it uses a near-real-time (NRT) sea ice concentration product as its input. This NRT product can contain missing data and has less quality control procedures applied to it than the final sea ice concentration input product provided by NASA Goddard. However, the final input product often lags behind the present by approximately a year.
The High Mountain Asia Multitemporal Landslide Inventories, Version 1 data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set contains landslide point locations along three important highways in Nepal: the Arniko, Karnali, and Pasang Lhamu highway. Data were derived from RapidEye satellite imagery and have a temporal coverage of 01 December 2009 to 31 December 2018.
