A software issue at the SMAP Science Data System (SDS) has been impacting the latency of all SMAP products. Due to the software issue, SMAP products cannot be produced automatically; production must be started manually. The patch to fix this issue will be delivered sometime within the next month. In the meantime, the SDS team will manually run the SMAP production code. Users will be able to access all new files as NSIDC ingests them. However, new data may be delayed. Users should not expect data to be delivered at their typical frequency. Data production, and therefore data delivery, may be sporadic and come in waves until the software issue is fixed. In particular, users should expect large data gaps over the weekends which will be back-filled every Monday. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. Thank you for your patience.
