Snow remote sensing has been underway for more than 40 years, and is today (in a warming world) more critical than ever.
While there are a number of societies and unions that deal with snow in general, there has not been a society or group specifically focused on seasonal snow and remote sensing. Nonetheless, a real snow and remote sensing community exists and understands it has a clear mission: to provide the techniques and methods needed to answer the world's pressing snow problems. This website is the home for that community.
SINTER is an international group of scientists and engineers sharing a passion for snow science
Our goal is to create a community for students and professionals alike to find others and share research and ideas. Currently, our community is spread out all over the globe. We encourage everyone interested in snow sciences to reach out and join SINTER. The SINTER charter establishes the purpose, objectives, organization, and operational procedures of the group.
