New data set release: ASO L4 Lidar Point Cloud Digital Terrain Model 3m UTM Grid

16 April 2020

The ASO L4 Lidar Point Cloud Digital Terrain Model 3m UTM Grid, Version 1 data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set provides 3 m gridded, bare-earth elevations (excluding trees) that are used as the baseline for the Airborne Snow Observatory (ASO) snow-on products. The data were collected during snow-free conditions as part of the NASA/JPL ASO aircraft survey campaigns.

Data set updates: NASA Airborne Snow Observatory (ASO) data sets

12 November 2019

The ASO L4 Lidar Snow Depth 3m UTM Grid, Version 1ASO L4 Lidar Snow Depth 50m UTM Grid, Version 1; and ASO L4 Lidar Snow Water Equivalent 50m UTM Grid, Version 1 data sets, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), have been updated to include new data for 2019. In addition, data for 8 new basins were also added. These data sets contain gridded snow depth data at 3-meter and 50-meter resolutions derived from airborne light detection and ranging (lidar) measurements of surface elevations, and gridded snow water equivalent at 50-meter resolution derived from the 50-meter snow depth data set. The data were collected as part of the NASA/JPL Airborne Snow Observatory (ASO) aircraft survey campaigns.
