The Nimbus Data Rescue Project has released its third data set: Nimbus High Resolution Infrared Radiometer Digital Swath Data Level 1. Funded by NASA, NSIDC researchers enhanced these brightness temperatures from the 1960s with a correction that significantly minimizes seemingly random alignment errors in the original data that caused cloud edges and land features to appear jagged. The data are available as HDF5 formatted files.
