The LVIS Classic L1B Geolocated Return Energy Waveforms, LVIS Classic L2 Geolocated Surface Elevation and Canopy Height Product, and LVIS L1A Geotagged Images Version 1 data sets, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), have been updated to include data from the 2023 Gabon campaign. These data sets contain the geolocated return energy waveforms collected by the NASA Land, Vegetation, and Ice Sensor (LVIS) airborne scanning laser altimeter, the geolocated surface elevation and canopy height data derived from the lidar waveforms, and geotagged optical images captured by the NASA Digital Mapping System camera mounted alongside the LVIS sensor. Temporal coverage now spans 21 May 2019 through 31 May 2023. Spatial coverage currently includes parts of Alaska, western Canada, the continental United States, Central America, and western Africa.
