Data set update: MEaSUREs Calibrated Enhanced-Resolution Passive Microwave Daily EASE-Grid 2.0 Brightness Temperature ESDR

The MEaSUREs Calibrated Enhanced-Resolution Passive Microwave Daily EASE-Grid 2.0 Brightness Temperature ESDR, Version 1 data set, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), has been updated through 20 February 2022.

Data prior to 31 December 2019 were produced using the Colorado State University (CSU) NOAA Fundamental Climate Data Record (FCDR). Beginning 1 January 2020 through the present, the data are produced daily using the CSU NOAA Interim Climate Data Record (ICDR). The ICDR data will continue to be updated daily with all available data at the time of processing. The input source data may be updated by the provider for up to a week after the nominal processing date, and the output gridded data files may change during this time.

NSIDC worked with the input data provider to ensure that the change in the input data stream would not impact the quality of the data product. Upon evaluation, it was determined that the input data stream using the ICDR was identical to the FCDR. With the change in data streams, the data set version was incremented to v1.5. Please refer to the documentation for further information. Beginning 9 August 2021, the F-15 SSM/I data will no longer be produced as part of the data product. This is a result of the decommissioning of the DMSP F-15 platform due to a loss of attitude control.
