Composites Offer Earliest Digital Infrared View of Earth

Data users can now download global composites of the earliest known satellite-based digital infrared observations of Earth. Nimbus High Resolution Infrared Radiometer Remapped Digital Data Daily L3, HDF5, constructed by the NASA-funded Nimbus Data Rescue Project, expands the team's data roster with daily composites of HRIR data recorded in 1964, 1966, and 1969 by the Nimbus 1, Nimbus 2, and Nimbus 3 satellites. The related data set, Nimbus High Resolution Infrared Radiometer Remapped Digital Data Daily L3, GeoTIFF, offers users GeoTIFF versions of each composites' equatorial projection.
