"Stage for Delivery" orders in NASA's Earthdata Search will be disabled between Tuesday, May 30, 6 pm (US Mountain Time) and Thursday, June 1, 7 am (US Mountain Time) for planned system maintenance. During this period, users will not be able to request data using this access method. All other download methods will remain available (except during the NSIDC DAAC scheduled downtime).
On Wednesday, May 31st from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (US Mountain Time), the following data collections may not be available due to planned system maintenance: ASO, AMSR Unified, AMSR-E, Aquarius, High Mountain Asia, IceBridge, ICESat/GLAS, ICESat-2, LVIS, MEaSUREs, MODIS, Nimbus, SMAP, SnowEx, SSM/I-SSMIS and VIIRS.
AMSR Unified - Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometers
The answer is yes! There are several ways to programmatically access NSIDC data products and metadata using Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). We also provide the ability to access data using an FTP client.
First, the spatial resolution of AMSR/ADEOS-II and AMSR-E/Aqua data doubles the resolution of Scanning Multichannel Microwave Radiometer (SMMR) and Special Sensor Microwave/Imager (SSM/I) data.
Many NSIDC DAAC data sets can be accessed using the NSIDC DAAC's Data Access Tool. This tool provides the ability to search and filter data with spatial and temporal constraints using a map-based interface. Users have the option to
