User Notice: Upcoming Retirement of Operation IceBridge Portal and IceFlow Library

The Operation IceBridge Portal and IceFlow NSIDC Data Tutorial notebooks will be retired by June 30, 2025, as part of NSIDC DAAC's transition to NASA Earthdata Cloud. These tools rely on underlying components that will be decommissioned during this transition. Access to both tools will become limited starting June 11, 2025. Guidance on each tool’s retirement process, as well as alternative data search, access, and transformation options, is listed below.

For Operation IceBridge Portal users: Access and ordering capabilities will end on June 11, 2025. Until June 25, 2025, you can still access your previous orders via the "Orders" tab and email links. After June 25, all orders placed before June 11 will expire, and the "Orders" option will no longer be available. Please make sure to download data from orders placed before June 11 as soon as possible. Related dataset landing pages will continue to provide a complete list of tools for searching, visualizing, and downloading IceBridge datasets. For an alternative map-based data search and access tool, we recommend utilizing NASA Earthdata Search

For IceFlow users: Access to the IceFlow NSIDC Data Tutorial notebooks will end on June 11, 2025. The data harmonization code, including ITRF corrections and data access workflows across ICESat/GLAS, Operation IceBridge, and ICESat-2, has been preserved and moved to a standalone iceflow Python library.
