NOAA@NSIDC is pleased to announce that the NOAA@NSIDC Climate Data Record of Passive Microwave Sea Ice Concentration, Version 3 data set has been updated to include the time period of 01 January 2020 through 31 December 2020, with the exception of 28 August 2020 which had bad data, so that date is not included in the update.
This data set provides a provides a consistent, daily and monthly time series of sea ice concentrations from 09 July 1987 through 31 December 2020 for both the north and south polar regions on a 25 km x 25 km grid. Note that the 2020 data for near-real-time (NRT) version of this data set called the Near-Real-Time NOAA@NSIDC Climate Data Record of Passive Microwave Sea Ice Concentration, Version 1 has been removed since the final processed version supersedes the NRT version.
If you have the 2020 NRT data, we suggest that you download and replace it with the 2020 final processed version of this data set.
