While in Seattle for Association of American Geographers (AAG), Florence Fetterer visited the Polar Science Center (PSC) at the University of Washington Applied Physics Laboratory. The NOAA@NSIDC team at NSIDC works with PSC on long-term stewardship of data from many field programs. One example is the International Arctic Buoy Programme. Conversations with UW researchers stressed the need for certain currently unfunded data projects. These include a gridded climatology of high quality sea ice records for the Sea of Okhotsk and long-term stewardship of ice thickness records from a CDR project.
