New versions (Version 5) of the ATLAS/ICESat-2 L3B Weekly Gridded Atmosphere and ATLAS/ICESat-2 L3B Monthly Gridded Atmosphere data sets, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), have been released. These data sets report various atmospheric parameters including global cloud fraction, total column optical depth over the oceans, polar cloud fraction, South Polar diamond dust frequency, blowing snow frequency, apparent surface reflectivity, and ground detection frequency. Temporal coverage currently spans 15 October 2018 to 01 April 2023. Spatial coverage is global.
Version 4 of these data sets will be retired from the NSIDC DAAC in six months. Upon retirement, data will no longer be accessible. All related documentation will remain available on the data set web pages for future reference.
