New version release: ICESat-2 L4 Monthly Gridded Sea Ice Thickness, Version 3

Version 3 of ICESat-2 L4 Monthly Gridded Sea Ice Thickness data is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set reports monthly, gridded winter sea ice thickness across the Arctic Ocean. Sea ice thickness is estimated using ATLAS/ICESat-2 L3A Sea Ice Freeboard (ATL10), Version 6 data and NASA Eulerian Snow On Sea Ice Model (NESOSIM) snow loading.  This new version includes additional estimates of sea ice thickness, calculated using different input assumptions.  These aim to facilitate comparisons with data produced from current and previous sea ice thickness altimetry studies and to explore the sensitivity of ice thickness estimates to underlying differences in input assumptions.  Version 3 also contains a temporal update to include data from September 2022-April 2023.
