New data sets released: Multiple Nimbus updates at NSIDC DAAC

Multiple Nimbus data sets are now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). These data sets contain daily, global, grayscale TIFF images and were detected by either the High Resolution Infrared Radiometer (HRIR) on board the Nimbus 1 (1964), Nimbus 2 (1966), and Nimbus 3 (1969-1970) satellites or the Temperature-Humidity Infrared Radiometer (THIR) on board the Nimbus 4 (1970-1971), Nimbus 5 (1973-1975), and Nimbus 6 (1975) satellites. The spatial resolution for all data sets is estimated to be 16 km.
