New data set release: ICESat-2 L4 Along-Track Sea Ice Thickness (IS2SITDAT4), Version 1

The ICESat-2 L4 Along-Track Sea Ice Thickness (IS2SITDAT4), Version 1 data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set reports daily, along-track winter sea ice thickness across the Arctic Ocean. Sea ice thickness is estimated using ATLAS/ICESat-2 L3A Sea Ice Freeboard (ATL10), Version 4 data and NASA Eulerian Snow On Sea Ice Model (NESOSIM) snow loading. Data span the Arctic Ocean and its peripheral seas south of 88° N with a spatial resolution that varies by number of photons returns, but is typically around 25 m x 11 m. Temporal coverage includes the following intervals:  14 October 2018 — 30 April 2019, 1 September 2019 — 30 April 2020, and 1 September 2020 — 30 April 2021.

Access to the data and documentation is provided on the data set web page at the NSIDC DAAC: https://doi.org/10.5067/JTI5YG3S6VAJ
