New data set release: Daily 4 km Gridded SWE and Snow Depth from Assimilated In-Situ and Modeled Data over the Conterminous US

The Daily 4 km Gridded SWE and Snow Depth from Assimilated In-Situ and Modeled Data over the Conterminous US, Version 1 data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set, developed at the University of Arizona (UA), provides daily 4 km Snow Water Equivalent (SWE) and snow depth over the conterminous United States from 1 October 1981 to 30 September 2017. This data set was developed by assimilating the Parameter-elevation Regressions on Independent Slopes Model (PRISM) daily 4 km precipitation and temperature data, SWE and snow depth data from thousands of in-situ snow stations from the National Resources Conservation Service's SNOTEL network, and snow depth data from the National Weather Services’s COOP network.
