The LVIS Classic L1B Geolocated Return Energy Waveform, Version 1 data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set contains geolocated return energy waveforms collected by the NASA Land, Vegetation, and Ice Sensor (LVIS), an airborne lidar scanning laser altimeter. The data were collected either as part of NASA’s Terrestrial Ecology Program campaign, the Arctic-Boreal Vulnerability Experiment (ABoVE), or of the Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation (GEDI) mission from 21 May 2019 through 8 August 2019.
This is an early-release data set with minimal documentation currently available. An increased Level of Service and more detailed documentation will be available in the future.
