The MEaSUREs Global Record of Daily Landscape Freeze/Thaw Status, Version 5 data set, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), is now available. This data set now includes data through the end of 2020. The ERA5 surface air temperature record was used to calibrate the MSTA and a constant threshold was applied to determine the F/T state when the correlation between ERA5 SAT and Tb is low (r<0.5) over permanent snow/ice regions. The no-data fill value has also changed from NaN to -9999.
This data set, part of the NASA Making Earth System Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) program, consists of two global records of the daily freeze/thaw (F/T) status of the landscape.
