The Bootstrap Sea Ice Concentrations from Nimbus-7 SMMR and DMSP SSM/I-SSMIS, Version 3 data set, available through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), has been updated through 31 December 2018. This data set consists of daily (provided every other day prior to July 1987) and monthly sea ice concentrations derived from brightness temperature measurements. Data are available for the north and south polar regions, with a temporal coverage extending back to 26 October 1978, and gridded to a 25 km polar stereographic projection.
In addition to a temporal coverage update, the data access location for this data set has changed. Users accessing this data set through a script will need to update accordingly. The new data access URL is: https://n5eil01u.ecs.nsidc.org/PM/NSIDC-0079.003/
