The AMSR-E Science Investigator-led Processing System (SIPS) has updated the AMSR-E L2B rain data set, AMSR-E/Aqua L2B Global Swath Surface Precipitation GSFC Profiling Algorithm, to Version 3.
Version 3 utilizes the GPROF 2010 Version 2 algorithm and Version 3 Level-2A Brightness Temperatures as input. Version 3 now includes both rain and solid precipitation rates and types, as well as ISO lineage metadata.
Reprocessing from the beginning of the mission onward is currently underway for these data sets and you will be notified when reprocessing is complete. Explore the NSIDC DAAC AMSR-E Data Collection for more information.
