This data set measured Total Organic Carbon (TOC) as non-purgeable organic carbon using a Shimadzu TOC-V. Nutrients were analyzed on a Lachatt auto-analyzer. Ions were analyzed on a Dionex DX-300 ion chromatography system. Infrared gas analysis was used to measure dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) on acidified samples. Samples for bacterial abundance were stained with SYBR Gold and counted on an epi-fluorescence microscope. Bacterial productivity was measured via the incorporation of tritiated thymidine into DNA. Primary Production was measured by 14C carbonate/bicarbonate incorporation.
