Glacier photographs at NSIDC

With few exceptions, glaciers around the world have retreated over the last century. Some ice caps, glaciers, and shelves have disappeared altogether. Many more are retreating so rapidly that they may vanish within decades.

First 25 years: The history of the WDC for glaciology and NSIDC in Boulder, Colorado

NSIDC began when the World Data Center for Glaciology moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1976. NSIDC subsequently earned support from NOAA, NASA, and the NSF.
