The GoLIVE Map Application (https://nsidc.org/app/golive) will be retired on June 30, 2026 as part of NSIDC DAAC’s software decommissioning work. After June 30, 2026, the GoLIVE Map Application will no longer be available; however, the underlying GoLIVE dataset is not being retired and will remain available through the NSIDC dataset landing page and standard download paths (https://nsidc.org/data/nsidc-0710/versions/2).
If you previously used the map application to help identify data locations through Landsat path/row (pXXX/rYYY) selections, you can find descending orbit path and row values using the USGS Latitude/Longitude to Path/Row Converter (https://landsat.usgs.gov/landsat_acq#convertPathRow), or by downloading the USGS WRS-2 descending path/row shapefiles or KMLs to view the path/row grid in GIS software (https://www.usgs.gov/landsat-missions/landsat-shapefiles-and-kml-files).
Additionally, users who want a more fully reprocessed and expanded ice-velocity product can explore the ITS_LIVE project, which provides global ice velocities (1984 to the present) via the ITS_LIVE interactive map application (https://nsidc.org/apps/itslive/).
If you have questions or would like help identifying the best alternative workflow for your use case, please contact NSIDC DAAC User Services at nsidc@nsidc.org.
