The SMAP Level-4 data sets, available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), have been updated to a new minor version for data beginning 1 August 2023. This update makes improvements to L1C_TB quality control, IMERG late inputs, and a geolocation issue fix (14 May 2026 to 28 July 2026). These changes are reflected in updated Science Version IDs (Vv8012, Vv8013). More information on this update and specific version changes is available on the SMAP Version History page.
