This data set contains complete low resolution (0.25 to 100 cm) oxygen isotope data from the WAIS Divide Ice Core WDC06A, 0 to 3404.7 m depth. Also included is the WDC2014 timescale.


Data are provided in Tab-delimited ASCII Text (.txt).

Data Acquisition and Processing

Data Acquisition Methods

Samples of 25 to 100 cm in length were obtained as longitudinal slices (outside edges removed) from the WAIS Divide WDC06A ice core. Water stable-isotope concentrations were measured by laser spectroscopy (Picarro L2120-i instrument) at the University of Washington, and are reported as δ18O deviations in per mil (‰) from Vienna Standard Mean Ocean Water (VSMOW), normalized to VSMOW and Standard Light Antarctic Precipitation (SLAP), where δ18O = R/RVSMOW-1, R is the abundance ratio of 18O/16O in water, δ18O VSMOW = 0.0‰ and δ18O SLAP = - 55.5‰.
