About Lauren

Lauren Herwehe is the Team Lead responsible for all data products from the NASA Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) mission. She is also the Team Lead for NSIDC-produced products derived from the Scanning Multichannel Microwave Radiometer (SMMR), Special Sensor Microwave/Imager (SSM/I), and Special Sensor Microwave Imager/Sounder (SSMIS) missions.

Herwehe brings over a decade of experience in climate change and remote sensing research, program management, and data science education to this role.
