The Sea Ice Trends and Climatologies from SMMR and SSM/I-SSMIS, Version 3 data set, available from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) has been extended through 31 December 2017. This update, representing Version 3.1 of the data set, now includes Version 3.1 of the “Bootstrap Sea Ice Concentrations from Nimbus-7 SMMR and DMSP SSM/I-SSMIS” data set. The input data from “Sea Ice Concentrations from Nimbus-7 SMMR and DMSP SSM/I-SSMIS Passive Microwave Data” remains the same.

The High Mountain Asia GFDL FLOR Modeled Extreme Precipitation Indices, Version 1 data set has been updated from a basic to a standard level of service at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). More extensive documentation and support options are now available. 

The High Mountain Asia TRMM-derived 3B42 Extreme Precipitation Indices, Version 1 data set has been updated from a basic to a standard level of service at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). More extensive documentation and support options are now available. 

The IceBridge Snow Radar L1B Geolocated Radar Echo Strength Profiles, Version 2 data set has been updated to include campaign data through 30 May 2018 at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).

The Multilayer Greenland Surface Temperature, Surface Albedo, and Water Vapor from MODIS Version 1 data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set includes MODIS Collection 6 ice surface temperature, surface albedo, water vapor, and derived melt maps, for Greenland from 01 March 2000 to 31 December 2017. These data are provided at a spatial resolution of 0.78 km.

The MEaSUREs Greenland Image Mosaics from Sentinel-1A and -1B, Version 2 data set, available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) has been extended through September 2018. This data set, part of the Making Earth System Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) Program, provides 6 and 12-day 50 m resolution image mosaics of the Greenland coastline and ice sheet periphery beginning in January 2015.

The SnowEx17 Boise State University Raw Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS) Point Cloud, Version 1 data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).

The DMSP SSM/I-SSMIS Daily Polar Gridded Brightness Temperatures, Version 4 data set, available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) has been extended through 31 December 2018. Data at 85.5 GHz and 91.7 GHz are gridded at a resolution of 12.5 km, with all other frequencies at a resolution of 25 km.

The DMSP SSM/I-SSMIS Pathfinder Daily EASE-Grid Brightness Temperatures, Version 2 data set, available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) has been extended through 31 December 2018. The spatial resolution is 25 km for all channels; the 85 and 91 GHz channels are also provided at a 12.5 km resolution.

NSIDC has updated two key data sets from NASA's Airborne Topographic Mapper (ATM) sensor, expanding the range of these data sets from 1993 to 2018. ATM observations count among the few ice-surface-height observations collected in the early 1990s, and the recent update provides a 25-year record of continual observations from the same source over some of Earth's fastest-changing regions.

The IceBridge DMS L3 Ames Stereo Pipeline Photogrammetric DEM, Version 1 data set has been updated to include 2014 and 2015 Greenland and Antarctic campaign data at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).

This data set represents a collection of digital elevation models (DEMs) obtained by processing Operation IceBridge DMS stereo images and LiDAR data using the NASA Ames Stereo Pipeline. Data are now available from 12 March 2014 through 25 July 2017.

The IceBridge DMS L3 Ames Stereo Pipeline Orthorectified Images, Version 1 data set has been updated to include 2014 and 2015 Greenland and Antarctic campaign data at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).

This data set represents a collection of orthorectified images obtained by processing Operation IceBridge DMS stereo images and lidar data using the NASA Ames Stereo Pipeline. Data are now available from 12 March 2014 through 25 July 2017.

Data access options have been updated for the IceBridge BedMachine Greenland, Version 3 data set at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). The direct download location has changed, and ordering is now available through the IceBridge Portal and NASA Earthdata Search using the Package button on the data set web page.

The IceBridge Narrow Swath ATM L1B Elevation and Return Strength with Waveforms, Version 1 data set has been updated through 01 May 2018 to now include 2018 Greenland campaign data at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).

This data set contains spot elevation measurements with corresponding waveforms of Greenland, Arctic, and Antarctic sea ice acquired by the NASA Airborne Topographic Mapper (ATM) narrow-swath instrumentation.

The IceBridge ATM L4 Surface Elevation Rate of Change, Version 1 data set has been updated through 01 May 2018 to now include 2018 Greenland campaign data at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).

The IceBridge KT19 IR Surface Temperature, Version 1 data set has been updated through 01 May 2018 to now include 2018 Greenland campaign data at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).

This data set contains surface temperature measurements of Arctic and Antarctic sea ice and land ice acquired by the Heitronics KT19.85 Series II Infrared Radiation Pyrometer and the NASA Airborne Topographic Mapper (ATM) instrument onboard the NASA P-3 and NASA DC-8 aircraft.

The IceBridge ATM L2 Icessn Elevation, Slope, and Roughness, Version 2 data set has been updated through 01 May 2018 to now include 2018 Greenland campaign data at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).

This data set contains resampled and smoothed elevation measurements of Arctic and Antarctic sea ice, and Greenland, Antarctic Peninsula, and West Antarctic region land ice surface acquired using the NASA Airborne Topographic Mapper (ATM) instrumentation.
