The temporal coverage for the image mosaics has been extended until 28 August 2023, and the 6 and 12 day velocity mosaics now spans until 16 August 23.
The temporal coverage of this data set has been extended to include the 2022 water year.
The ATLAS/ICESat-2 L1B Converted Telemetry Data (ATL02), Version 5 data set, will be retired from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) on 13 November 2023.
Reminder that after 31 December 2023, FTP access to NOAA@NSIDC data will no longer be available. Instead, you can now access NOAA@NSIDC data using the HTTPS protocol. We are transitioning from FTP to HTTPS for data distribution to improve user accessibility, particularly through web browsers.
NOAA@NSIDC is pleased to announce that the Climate Data Record of Passive Microwave Sea Ice Concentration, Version 4 data set, accessible through the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC), has been updated to include the time period of 01 January 2023 through 30 June 2023. This data set provides a consistent daily and monthly time series of sea ice concentrations beginning 25 October 1978 for both the north and south polar regions on a 25 km x 25 km grid.
The MEaSUREs Greenland Image Mosaics from Sentinel-1A and -1B, Version 4 and MEaSUREs Greenland 6 and 12 day Ice Sheet Velocity Mosaics from SAR, Version 2 data sets, available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), have been updated. The temporal coverage for both the image mosaics and 6 and 12 day velocity mosaics data now spans from 01 January 2015 to 23 July 2023.
New versions (Version 5) of the ATLAS/ICESat-2 L3B Weekly Gridded Atmosphere and ATLAS/ICESat-2 L3B Monthly Gridded Atmosphere data sets, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), have been released.
NOAA@NSIDC is pleased to announce that the Daily Great Lakes Ice Concentration, 1973 Onward, Version 1 data set is now available through the 2023 ice season. In addition, shapefiles for the 2003 ice season through the 2023 ice season have been added as a format of the data set. This data set consists of daily gridded lake ice concentration for the Laurentian Great Lakes from the NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL).
The MEaSUREs Global Record of Daily Landscape Freeze/Thaw Status, Version 5 data set, available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), has been updated through 31 December 2021. The F/T status is now provided as a single Earth System Data Record derived from SMMR, SSM/I, and SSMIS from 1979 to 2020, and AMSR2 from 2021 onwards. The separate AMSR-E–AMSR2 data record (2002 - 2020) has been discontinued.
The Randolph Glacier Inventory - A Dataset of Global Glacier Outlines, Version 7 dataset is now available through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set is a global set of glacier outlines intended as a snapshot of the world’s glaciers beyond the ice sheets. It provides a single outline for each glacier at approximately the year 2000 as well as a set of attributes and other relevant auxiliary information.
