NSIDC is pleased to announce that the Sea Ice Concentrations from Nimbus-7 SMMR and DMSP SSM/I-SSMIS Passive Microwave Data data set has been updated through December 2013.
Please note that this update includes replacement data for January through September 2013. Previously, data for this time span included temporal interpolation, particularly at the end of months as all data were not available. The data have now been finalized, and values may have changed slightly. NSIDC recommends that those who downloaded the data prior to 9 June 2014, download the replacement data for January through September 2013. Going forward, only the latest update will need to be downloaded as temporal interpolation will not be included in the production process.
Also, browse images for the entire record have been reprocessed to include a title and simplified color bar. The data have not been affected other than the January through September 2013 period.
