New version available: MEaSUREs Greenland Ice Velocity: Selected Glacier Site Velocity Maps from InSAR, Version 3

The MEaSUREs Greenland Ice Velocity: Selected Glacier Site Velocity Maps from InSAR, Version 3 data set, accessible from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), has been updated to a new version. This data set is part of the NASA Making Earth System Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) program. It provides velocity estimates determined from Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) data for major glacier outlet areas in Greenland. The maps are produced from image pairs measured by the German Aerospace Center’s (DLR) twin satellites TerraSAR-X / TanDEM-X (TSX / TDX).

Images created from data acquired on or after 1 January 2015 were processed using a newer DEM, the MEaSUREs Greenland Ice Mapping Project (GIMP) Digital Elevation Model from GeoEye and WorldView Imagery (GIMP DEM V2). For images created using data prior to 1 January 2015, the same DEM as in version 2 was used, the MEaSUREs GIMP Digital Elevation Model (GIMP DEM V1). A field has been added to the .meta file to indicate which DEM was used in the processing. New data have also been added so the data set now spans 12 June 2008 to 3 January 2020.
