The Antarctic Glaciological Data Center (AGDC) at NSIDC is pleased to announce the release of a new data set, Methyl Bromide Measurements in the Taylor Dome M3C1 Ice Core. The data set includes methyl bromide (CH3Br) measurements made on air extracted from 70 samples from the Taylor Dome M3C1 ice core. CH3Br was measured in air from the Taylor Dome ice core to reconstruct an atmospheric record for the Holocene (11-0 kyr B.P.) and part of the last glacial period (50-30 kyr B.P.).
The Antarctic Glaciological Data Center (AGDC) at NSIDC is pleased to announce the release of a new data set, Methyl Chloride Measurements in the Taylor Dome M3C1 Ice Core. This data set includes methyl chloride (CH3CI) measurements made on air extracted from 62 samples from the Taylor Dome M3C1 ice core in East Antarctica. CH3CI was measured in air from the Taylor Dome ice core to reconstruct an atmospheric record for the Holocene (11-0 kyr B.P.) and part of the last glacial period (50-30 kyr B.P.).
The Antarctic Glaciological Data Center (AGDC) at NSIDC is pleased to announce the release of a new data set, WAIS Divide Sonic Log Data . This data set contains a record of speeds for vertically-propagating compression-waves measured throughout the depth of ice that surrounds the WAIS-D borehole. Multiple logs provide redundant measurements for all depths. Data for individual wave-speed measurements were included, as well as 3 m running averages for each log.
NASA IceBridge Scintrex CS-3 Cesium Magnetometer L1B Geolocated Magnetic Anomalies data for 2013 Antarctica are now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). See the Cesium Magnetometer L1B data catalog page for more information.
The AMSR-E Science Investigator-led Processing System (SIPS) has completed reprocessing of the AMSR-E sea ice data sets to Version 3. The following data sets are now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).
The Antarctic Glaciological Data Center (AGDC) at NSIDC is pleased to announce the release of a new data set, Iceberg Capsize Kinematics and Energetics. This data set represents a typical single iceberg capsize experiment. Included in this data set are all the parameters of the plastic iceberg's density and dimensions, the density of the water surrounding the iceberg, and the value of gravitational acceleration.
New validation field campaign data from the Soil Moisture Active Passive Validation Experiment 2012 (SMAPVEX12) are now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), including:
NASA IceBridge LVIS L2 Geolocated Surface Elevation Product data for 2013 Arctic are now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). See the LVIS L2 data catalog page for more information.
The Antarctic Glaciological Data Center (AGDC) at NSIDC is pleased to announce the release of a new data set, WAIS Divide Ice Core Electrical Conductance Measurements, Antarctica . This data set contains electrical measurements that were used to develop the WDC06A-7 timescale.
NASA IceBridge POS/AV L1B Corrected Position and Attitude Data for 2014 Arctic are now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). See the POS/AV L1B data catalog page for more information.
The Antarctic Glaciological Data Center (AGDC) at NSIDC is pleased to announce the release of a new data set, Bubble Number-density Data and Modeled Paleoclimates. This data set includes bubble number-density measured at depths from 120 meters to 560 meters at 20-meter intervals in both horizontal and vertical samples. The data set also includes modeled temperature reconstructions based on the model developed by Spencer et al. (2006).

The NASA Reverb data search and order tool now has services to subset NASA GLAS HDF5 data both spatially and temporally. For further information, see How to subset GLAS HDF5 data.
The NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) has been notified of erroneous data contained in the sea ice concentration field of the Sea Ice Nimbus-7 SMMR and DMSP SSM/I-SSMIS Passive Microwave Data for the date of 14 September 1984. A geolocation error in the source data resulted in the addition of several hundred thousand square kilometers of erroneous ice for both the Arctic and Antarctic records.
The NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) has released Version 3 of the MEaSUREs Global Record of Daily Landscape Freeze/Thaw Status data set. This release, part of NASA's Making Earth System Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) Program, extends the SMMR-SSM/I-SSMIS freeze/thaw record through 2012, corrects land/ocean mask and freeze/thaw misclassification errors over ocean dominated grid cells, and applies a revised methodology to produce data annual quality maps.
