The MEaSUREs Greenland Image Mosaics from Sentinel-1A and -1B, Version 2 data set, available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) has been updated with mosaics through September 2019. This data set, part of the Making Earth System Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) Program, provides 6 and 12-day 50 m resolution image mosaics of the Greenland coastline and ice sheet periphery beginning in January 2015.
NOAA@NSIDC would like to make users aware of a data update and an error notice for the NOAA@NSIDC Gridded Monthly Sea Ice Extent and Concentration, 1850 Onward data set.
The ATLAS/ICESat-2 L3A Ocean Surface Height, Version 2 (ATL12) data set, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), has been updated from a basic to a comprehensive level of service.
SMAP data sets, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), are impacted by the following change.
In August 2019, NSIDC discovered large gaps in the 2018 F18 brightness temperature record. These data gaps occurred between 11 February - 13 March and 30 September - 31 October. They affected data in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. In January 2020, the missing data were recovered and reprocessed.
The IceBridge KT19 IR Surface Temperature, Version 1 data set has been updated to include 2019 Arctic campaign data from 27 March 2019 through 17 May 2019 at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set contains surface temperature measurements of Arctic and Antarctic sea ice and land ice acquired by the Heitronics KT19.85 Series II Infrared Radiation Pyrometer.
NSIDC is excited to bring your attention to the Cryospheric Sciences with ICESat-2 Hack Week, June 15-19, 2020, on the University of Washington campus. Visit the website https://icesat-2hackweek.github.io/ for details on how to apply. From the ICESat-2 Hack Week Organizers: Join us for five days of tutorials, data exploration, software development and community networking focused on open source tools to analyze and visualize ICESat-2 data for cryospheric applications.
The IceBridge LVIS L1A Geotagged Images, Version 1 data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set contains geotagged images collected over Greenland from 25 August 2017 to 20 September 2017.
