Hi All,

I'm looking for some kind and generous people who can provide few minutes
at AGU to judge two student posters in session C23A. Please sign-up if you
can help us out. Instructions are given below. We only have two posters in
this session, so it should not take more than few minutes of your time.

See you all in SFO!

Thanks,
Umesh

Hi all -

You are receiving this email because the organizer for your AGU Fall
Meeting 2012 Cryosphere session designated you as the OSPA Liaison for your
session. Each year, the number of students who wish to be considered for
the Outstanding Student Paper Award competition grows larger and more help
is needed to secure enough judges for all students. Please use your
professional network to help secure judges for the students in your
session- AGU and the Cryosphere Focus Group greatly appreciates your help.
Scope the attached Excel spreadsheet to determine which session has
designated you as OSPA Liaison.

Getting Started
- If you have not already joined the Fall Meeting Community,
please register here: http://fallmeeting.agu.org/2012/community/. You
will be emailed an activation link, which will automatically log you in.
- Once you have created an account, or if you already have an
account, you may log into the OSPA scheduling site here:
http://fallmeeting.agu.org/2012/ospa/

Determining the Students in Your Session(s)
- There may be other students in your sessions, but only those who
appear in the system have indicated that they wish to be judged. The
deadline for signing up has passed.
- The third orange navigational button on the right says “Find
Presentations”
- In the blue search box at the top, type in one of your sessions
and hit the “search” button.
- The results of your search will appear on the next page. You
may export these results by clicking “Export as CSV.”
- When you click on the orange triangle beside each paper’s title,
it will expand to show you the student’s abstract and if they have chosen
to indicate, specific times they will be present at their posters.
- As a Liaison, you will be able to see the judges assigned to a
student’s presentation. You will see the judge’s name, university and
email address. Your search results will display all students in your
session, whereas judges will only be shown students who do not have the
same university affiliation.

Judging Students
- If you choose to judge any of the students yourself, please
ensure that you do not have a conflict of interest with those students.
- You may “bulk add” presentations to their schedules. Simply
scroll through the search results, checking the box of each presentation
you’d like to add and then click “Add to Schedule.”
- Please note: Judges will all need to enter their own scores
this year via this system. (Score sheet functionality will be added in a
couple of weeks.)

My Schedule
- You will see that this screen is blank currently because you
haven’t added presentations yet.
- You’ll see two tabs- the darker blue tab that’s shown by default
displays presentations that you have not yet judged.
- The lighter blue tab allows you to switch to presentations that
you’ve already judged.
- You can add/remove presentations on this screen.

A quick note about the presentations- as sessions are cancelled,
presentations are moved to different sessions, students withdraw, etc., the
list will be updated in the system. If you have any questions about the
process, please feel free to contact Tim Link (Cryosphere Focus Group
Executive Committee), Kara Smedley (AGU OSPA head honcho), and me (AGU
Cryosphere Focus Group President-Elect). Thank you for your effort!

Happy Halloween!
Tom Painter
