[GLIMS] Fall AGU 2012--abstracts due 8 Aug; Spring EGU Assembly session proposals

Dear GLIMS colleagues,
This note is a reminder that AGU abstracts are due 8 August-- a month earlier than has traditionally been the case.  The conference is 3-7 Dec. 2012 (also a bit earlier in the month than usual); as always, it will be held in San Francisco.  There have normally been many glacier and ice sheet sessions, including several chaired and organized by GLIMS colleagues.  Among other good sessions, there will again be one led by Umesh Haritashya, Michael Bishop and me on the topic of Himalayan glaciation.  
I also want to put in an advance word to push for GLIMS participation in the Spring EGU General Assembly (Vienna, 7-12 April 2013).  There is currently an open Call for Sessions:http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU2013/provisionalprogramme.
