Dear colleagues,
The Canadian Geophysical Union is hosting its Annual Scientific Meeting from May 28-31, 2017 in Vancouver, Canada (<http://cgu-ugc2017meeting.ca/destination/>http://cgu-ugc2017meeting.ca/). The relatively new Earth Surface Processes section of CGU is hosting 15 sessions (http://cgu-ugc2017meeting.ca/conference-sessions/), with many that may be of interest to GLIMS members, including:
ES01: Forms and Processes of bedrock erosion in fluvial and glacial landscapes
ES02: Hazards and landscape response in the high mountains
ES03: Steep landscapes from source to sink
ES04: Morphodynamics of River Systems
ES05: The interaction between climate and tectonics in Late Cenozoic landscape evolution
ES09: In honour of John Clague, one of Canada's foremost Earth Scientists'
ES10: Ice-rock interactions in the cryosphere
ES11: Glacial geology, Geomorphology, and Modelling of Past Glaciers and Ice Sheets
ES13: Computer models and statistical methods in Earth sciences
ES14: Advances in Earth Surface Processes
ES15: Advances in Cold Regions Geomorphology
There are also several related sessions hosted by the Hydrology section of CGU on catchment processes, and glaciology, including:
H01: Hydroclimatic Impacts and Adaptation
H03: Recent advances in Isotopes as Tracers of Hydrology and Earth-System-Science
H05: Insights into Environmental/Hydrological Models Using Sensitivity and Uncertainty Analysis and Information Theory
H06: Advances in Cold Regions Hydrology
H08: Snow Level and Precipitation: Trends, Extremes and Impacts
H09: Measuring and modelling glacier change
H12: Glacier Hydrology: On, In and Under the Ice
Please consider submitting a session abstract before the February 15 deadline (http://cgu-ugc2017meeting.ca/abstract-submission/).
Cheers, Dan Shugar
ps. You do not need to be Canadian come to the meeting!
