[GLIMS] GLIMSBook-clarification regarding e-supplement

Dear all:Springer has clarified that e-supplement material will be available only to book purchasers. This makes copyright issues easier to deal with; if they have been dealt with for the book itself, they are automatically dealt with regarding the e-supplement (which, as noted previously, now replaces earlier plans for a DVD).Thus, it is our intention to post every chapter's figures also on the e-supplement, unless explicitly forbidden by an author from doing so. At this point, we have such denial only from one author, who may choose to reverse that denial of permission now that the e-supplement is clearly connected explicitly with the book and is simply a means of providing the full resolution graphics to readers and buyers of the book.(I will further clarify the situation with regard to library users-- whether they will have access to the e-supplement; but that should not be an issue that concerns you at this time.)--Jeff
