test of data transfer to NSIDC

Hello,

I am writing to remind you that NSIDC is ready to ingest glacier outline
data and related metadata.  If you have any GLIMS-like glacier data at all
-- even for one glacier -- we would like to start the process of
transferring it to NSIDC in order to debug the transfer and ingest
processes.  Both ends of each NSIDC/RC link need to be exercised and
debugged separately.

We realize that the information about how to produce "GLIMS data" is still
terse.  We're working on that too, but any additional experience in data
transfer will help improve the documentation for the future.

If you have data that is even close to being ready for ingest, please
write me.
