Seeking the World’s Largest Glaciers in Data

NOAA@NSIDC has long partnered with the World Glacier Monitoring Service (WGMS) in Switzerland to improve the quality and completeness of glacier data. NSIDC’s User Services office gets questions from the public about glaciers that our data hold the answers to – seemingly simple questions like “What are the largest glaciers on the planet?”  Ann Windnagel set out to find answers during a stay with WGMS and found that it’s not such a simple matter.
