Missing and delayed MODIS data

The lag time between observations and availability of MODIS products is only a few days. Lag time may be extended due to satellite maneuvers and extra quality assurance required for the geolocation data after the maneuver. The MODAPS Terra and Aqua web sites contain information on data outages satellite maneuvers, and instrument failures affecting processing.

The following tables show permanently missing MODIS Terra and Aqua data by product latency including daily, 8-day, and monthly. This list is updated when data gaps are discovered and may not be complete. If you discover missing data, contact NSIDC User Services at nsidc@nsidc.org to clarify.
