Fall AGU sessions

Dear GLIMS colleagues,

Please note the many cryosphere sessions planned for this fall's Amer. Geophys. Union meeting in mid December. For a list of AGU Cryo sessions, see:

http://www.agu.org/meetings/fm08/?content=search&show=session&section=5&cosection=0&category=&keysearch=&title=1&desc=1&searchBy=sponsor

There are IPY sessions, remote sensing of glacier sessions, and others related to climate-cryosphere connections. Session C20 is one I have proposed, on "Stable, Retreating, and Advancing Glaciers (Why the Difference?)," which continues a theme pushed at the 2004 GLIMS workshop in Oslo.

Let's try to have a large GLIMS presence at that meeting.

Also, there is advanced discussion about possible future GLIMS meetings to follow from last June's workshop in Boulder. We are thinking of possibly a meeting in Mendoza, Argentina around January 2010, among other possibilities sooner than that.

Sincerely,

Jeff Kargel
