Dear GLIMSList-subscriber,
We would like to draw your attention to the Ice and Climate News No. 9:
http://clic.npolar.no/newsletters/archive/ice_climate_2007_06_no_09.pdf
This recent CliC newsletter focuses on the mountain cryosphere and
includes an article (p. 4) about present state and current challenges of
the worldwide glacier monitoring jointly written by the officers in charge
of the organizations coordinating the international monitoring of glaciers
and ice caps, i.e. the World Glacier Monitoring Service (WGMS), the
National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC), and the Global Land Ice
Measurements from Space (GLIMS) initiative. Another article (p. 5) gives
an overview on the new GlobGlacier project funded by the European Space
Agency which aims at making a major contribution to GLIMS.
Sincerely yours,
Michael Zemp, on behalf of the officers in charge of WGMS, NSIDC and GLIMS
