Hi all, As I may have mentioned in earlier notes, the folks at Eros Data Center have specially processed 2818 L1A scenes over glaciers to L1B for us as a test of their capability. While there are still an abundant number of cloudy scenes in this new batch of L1Bs, each region should be able to find some good ones too. John Dwyer has been placing these new L1B scenes and manual cloud assessment stats onto the ftp site that also houses the free Landsat ETM+ data. Currently, these data are sorted by regional center number. John gives further details in his note below. We are working on creating a map based interface for finding data, but I don't want to make you wait for that in order to get the data! Enjoy! Row numbers on spreadsheet correlating with jpegs in 1to240.zip file are: 32, 43, 55, 65, 91, 97, 155, 176, 180, 196, 200, 210, 213, 225, 226 and 236 L1BfromL1A_GLIMS_list_042503.xls.zip ? this file is an Excel spreadsheet containing the entire list of 2800 ASTER scenes processed to Level-1B by the LP DAAC. This spreadsheet contains the ECS database-id that is returned by the EOS Data Gateway, the corresponding ASTER Level-1B filename, the Regional Number (i.e. the RC subdirectory under which the data are located for ftp-pull), Acquisition Date, Acquisition Time, Center Latitude, Center Longitude, Cloud Cover estimate from manual inspection, and Comments. The following .zip files contain JPEG images for each of the GLIMS ASTER Level-1B scenes; the numbers embedded in the file names correspond to the row numbers in the spreadsheet.
