Bruce and SJ met briefly yesterday. We didn't review all the action items because no one else was there. Here's a status: Bruce has his ingest code working, will ask Cathy to help with a bulk copy into the database. SJ succeeded in getting Hester's data into something that Bruce can work with. Turns out some of Hester's glacier polygons were multipart, i.e. they had interior polygons for the nunataks. This initially caused Bruce's code some grief, but he's rewritten it to ignore all but the first polygon, which he verified is always the glacier outline. We will state in the transfer spec that multi-part polygons are not allowed, and if they are used only the first polygon will be ingested. This applies only to analyses in which entire outlines are sent as polygons, not to analyses broken into segments (PolyLine). The IGARSS paper is to be delivered two weeks from next Wed., a mighty short time. I will be out most of the week preceding IGARSS; I'll be at the SEEDS workshop Mon - Wed. I hope to circulate an outline of the talk to the group today. I'm anxious to hear from Ross on progess on making the interface "pretty." Hopefully, there will be data in it soon so we can exercise it. sjs Siri Jodha Singh Khalsa, Ph.D. / Space Sciences Sector, L-3 Analytics ECS Science Data Coordinator for the National Snow and Ice Data Center Campus Box 449 / 1540 30th St. Boulder, CO 80309 Phone: (303) 492-1445 FAX: (303) 492-2468 http://spot.colorado.edu/~khalsa
