Dear GLIMS participants and users:
I received the following responses from the 'survey' sent last month. These responses are all -- each and every one-- very helpful
to (1) meet the needs of the still-ongoing review of GLIMS (next major steps in the review will occur May 30 with a crucial meeting at NASA HQ, and June 9-10-11 with a review/evaluation meeting in Boulder at NSIDC), (2) identify both strengths and weakness in GLIMS as it has been conducted-- useful not just for the review but for moving forward in GLIMS; and (3) specifying new observation requirements/needs for future remote sensing systems that can be helpful to GLIMS, RGI, and other glacier monitoring initiatives.
So for those of you who responded, please know that I appreciate your comments and suggestions, which I take as guidance from the GLIMS contributor and user community.
Whereas your continued feedback can never be too late, for purposes of this May 30 meeting, if anybody else has feedback please provide it in the next 3 or 4 days. If I accidentally omitted any response, please accept my apology and remind me or resend what you sent.
After I receive any further feedback, I intend to make all responses available through the GLIMS list, unless there are objections to doing so.
