Frozen Ground Data

NSIDC is retiring the Frozen Ground Data Center web pages, effective February 28, 2021. After that date, documentation about the data will be available from individual data product landing pages.

The Global Geocryological Data System

The Frozen Ground Data Center (FGDC) serves as a central node of the IPA Global Geocryological Data (GGD) system. The GGD is an internationally distributed system linking investigators and data centers around the world. Many of the products listed here are available directly through the FGDC and some are held by other institutions. For those data sets held by other institutions, NSIDC provides the original metadata for the data set, and asks users to contact the Principal Investigator to access the data.
