Vegetation and soil classification at Barrow Environmental Observatory and Long Range Radar Site: Barrow Legacy Study, Alaska, USA, Version 1
Data set id:
GGD277

Overview

Data from Barrow Environmental Observatory, Point Barrow and Barter Island Long Range Radar Sites (LRRS), taken during August 1993 and August 1994. Thaw depth data from: 1. 31 vegetation plots used for a vegetation classification (Aug 1994). Data report includes mean thaw depth of 5 measurements at each plot. Data are also reported as means and standard error for each of 10 vegetation types; 2. a 400-m topographic transect across beach ridge north of Central Marsh (Aug 1993); 3. a 360-m transect across the Barrow LRRS drainage ditch (Aug 1994). Data are summarized in graphic form showing topographic relief (1 meter intervals) and thaw depth (2 meter intervals). Plant species were recorded at 1 meter intervals. Data are available from the ARCSS Data Coordination Center at the National Snow and Ice Data Center, Boulder, CO, at
