This data set includes dual-polarized L-band brightness temperature and soil moisture data measured by the Two-Dimensional Synthetic Aperture Radiometer (2D-STAR) instrument. An aircraft carrying the instrument was flown over Arizona, USA and Sonora, Mexico on various dates as part of the Soil Moisture Experiment 2004 (SMEX04).
